Position Overview:
The Equity Research Analyst ("Analyst") will be part of a growing research team dedicated to the unique culture and research approach that the firm is developing internally. The Analyst will focus on a specific sector, and will have had proven experience in conducting fundamental buy-side research at a reputable investment institution. Pyramis believes that the traditional long-only investment industry is witnessing a major change in the way institutional investors are looking at global equity markets. It strongly supports the view that these investors will increasingly incorporate long-short, market neutral and other alternative equity strategies into their equity alLocations:. It will therefore be important that candidates for this position will be able to generate and interpret qualitative and quantitative research that will be applicable to both long-only and alternative equity strategies that will be essential components of Pyramis' investment approach. The successful candidate will be confident in his/her ability to introduce investment ideas and provide investment recommendations based on these strategies.
Primary Responsibilities:
As part of the Equity Research Analyst's ongoing responsibilities, he will conduct fundamental research on the given sector. This will include financial modeling and producing streamlined yet coherent research reports based on independent study and observation of industry trends and developments. The Analyst will track, analyze and interpret trends within the sector and apply his findings to recommendations that conform to Pyramis' investment approach and strategy. He will be able to articulate clearly to portfolio managers and other equity analysts the rationale supporting his/her investment recommendations. The Analyst will interact regularly with portfolio managers and other analysts and will be expected to be a valued contributor within an environment where initiative, teamwork, excellent technical capabilities and effective communication will be essential to success.
Qualifications
Education and Experience :
MBA or MS (or foreign education equivalent) in Finance, Economics or Mathematics and 2 years of experience in Job Offered or 2 years of experience in financial and corporate finance analysis.
Skills and Knowledge :
* Demonstrated Expertise performing equity analysis of global institutions, including macro industry analysis, competitive market analysis, due diligence, regression analysis, profitability tree, and spreadsheet modeling using Bloomberg and Fact Set
* DE analyzing financial statements of financial institutions including capital, liquidity and credit analysis, and non-financial institutions including liquidity, operating, leverage and profitability ratio analysis.
* DE building valuation models of global institutions according to both IFRS or other foreign accounting standards and US GAAP.
