Energy Efficient Manufacturing Technologies Specialist
Title: Energy Efficient Manufacturing Technologies Specialist Location: District of Columbia-Washington
Key Role: Provide advisory services to a government research and development (R&D) client serving as an expert in comprehending energy technology in the area of energy efficient manufacturing technologies. Work with world-class scientists in driving forward research efforts in a broad base of energy related R&D areas. Maintain and leverage technical expertise and relationships while serving clients. Provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support of senior decision-makers. Conduct background research in evaluating the feasibility and the commercial applications of new technological concepts. Produce and present findings, and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients. Assist with technical program management, program development, and preparing briefing materials for government R&D efforts. Basic Qualifications -2 year of experience with postdoctoral research related to energy efficiency in manufacturing, specifically through the reduction of embedded energy costs, including waste heat and energy recovery, systems integration, source flexibility, CHP, sensors, controls, automation, and robotics for energy systems and new technologies -2 years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for both technical and non-technical audiences -Ability to demonstrate good judgment -Ability to commute to Washington, DC -Ability to obtain a security clearance -PhD degree in EE, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
Additional Qualifications: -2 years of experience with postdoctoral or industry research -Experience in a consulting environment -Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint -Ability to exhibit flexibility, adaptability, and a team orientation -Possession of excellent organizational and interpersonal skills -Possession of excellent client service skills -Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
