Director (Sports Management/Finance)

Oversee the global line management of the American Icon Category of products.


Product Management

  • Provide the vision and product strategy to drive the CTAS franchise product creation engine. Drive and manage the product creation process across design, development and sales to execute against briefs and category plans. Participate in writing a 3 year product and distribution plan. Ensure that all product lines execute against the approved product creation calendar.
  • Ensures team achieves a "brief-to-commercial success" (number of items briefed to number of items within the top 80% of unit orders) of over 65%.


    Financial Management

  • Monitor and coordinate the creation of seasonal product plans so that they achieve brand and category financial objectives with respect of revenue, margin, SKU efficiency ANSP, and distribution channel mix. Create, constantly monitor and manage overall forecasts against category and brand objectives. Proactively develop, recommend and implement approved actions to enhance sales to forecast, and profitability.
  • Booking forecast accuracy to +or- 20% on an individual product basis, overall top line accuracy of + or - 5% on a category basis.


    Driving the Distribution Strategy with Sales

  • Identifies clear channel and door strategies with Sales management. Assists in key account presentation, and tracking progress toward channel / door goals, to be clearly identified by the team in advance of the season. Solid understanding of what's working and what's not at retail and what trends are happening. Knows competition's products and how they are performing. Can synthesize to pinpoint specific product ideas not being addressed. Understands what's affecting retail landscape. Able to translate into actionable product plans by distribution channel.


    Drives the brand marketing strategy discussion

  • Based on tremendous consumer insight and understanding of media habits, creates clear marketing briefs for the category that compelling brand strategies can be built against. Works to bring these to life with the brand management team


    Business Planning

  • Embraces overall brand direction as it relates to a specific consumer group and reflects it in a comprehensive category business plan. Aids in development of Corporate planning (QBR, CSR, etc.)
  • Plan is inclusive of the mission/vision, target consumer identification, product concepts, pricing strategies, recommended distribution, potential brand support and possible new concepts.
  • Presentation to management as required.


    Qualifications

  • 5+ years of proven success in product marketing at a leading consumer products company
  • 4 yr degree in related field.
  • Technical: Proven ability to create and maintain analytical management tools for product line evolution, merchandising, SKU performance and gross margin optimization. Proven product skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong, proven leadership skills and well developed interpersonal skills to lead and manage a matrixed, cross-functional team.
  • Strong business acumen. Dedicated team player with strong sense of ownership. Well organized and strong multi-project management skills.
