The Director of Treasury Operations will be responsible for forecasting, and administering the liquidity profile of the company. This includes evaluating its cash requirements, accounting for the cash movements, working closely with Corporate Finance, Financial Planning and Analysis, Sales and Marketing, and Supply Chain Management, assisting with its debt compliance activities – while providing Treasury expertise and regiment into its overall operations. The capital structure is in the process of redesign following a period of the greatest credit turmoil in the country’s recent history. Thus the individual will be working closely with middle and senior management to identify opportunities to reduce covenants as well as leverage as the market recovers. The person will be looking to enhance the overall cash flow reporting of the enterprise through the use of whatever tools are available with the expectation that the organization is being transformed into a world class organization. In addition, the person will work closely with the Director of Treasury – Cash Management, to further automate the highly manual banking information flow to permit resource redeployment into higher value activities. Required Skills
Initially the role will have no direct reports. The candidate will have the ability to leverage all resources both internal and external to their functional group, delivering timely, accurate, and professional quality outputs for management and operations. The role is an exciting prospect for the appropriate individual looking to prove their mettle in a highly charged, fast moving enterprise. Thirteen week forecast lead:
* Work with corporate staff, businesses and divisions to integrate operational results into short term forecasting of the company * Take 13 week actual inputs and forecast the next review period with close liaison to Treasury Operations Lead * Understand and monitor decisions to borrow or repay to incorporate into cash forecast and reporting decisions * Serve as Borrowing Base lead * Work with accounting to understand ineligible developments * Facilitate process improvements to reduce potential errors with the accounting team * Serve as primary contact with audit (GE, Ableco, BoA, etc.) efforts from a Treasury perspective to drive best company outcomes * Coordinate and link seamless transition of thirteen week forecasting assumptions into financial statement modeling thru close interaction with FP&A, and Corporate Finance departments * Review and revise key accounting policies, as they related to Treasury activities, as required
Accounting – Supply Chain Management:
* Support payments to suppliers and receipts from customers * Serve as Commodity lead (caps and associated executing and accounting) * Work with SCM to reduce the number of wires * Investigate the feasibility of one nationwide banking platform * Improve Canadian Cash management operations. * Controller liaison * Serve as first line of support to accounting queries relating to close questions * Work closely with Treasury Operations Lead to resolve banking, accounting issues * Establish hedging policies
Internal Controls:
* Lead the efforts of change corporate internal control, financial policies, and spending approval authorities based on business environment changes * Strengthen Controller team interaction with Treasury associates * Investigate methods of cross training and exchanging staff to build accounting and Treasury competencies within both groups
Banking Relations: * Identify strategic banking representatives and their specialized job functions * Maintain communication with banking constituents * Monitor and partner with division and business staff to negotiate capital leases
* Special Projects Required Experience
Any candidate is expected to present and/or have: * Five or more years experience in a corporate and/or banking sectors * Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, specializing in Finance, Management, or accounting – with an MBA, CTP designation preferred * Exceptional interpersonal and negotiating skills * Superior project management skills with the ability to multi task yet stay focused on end objectives * Superior excel skills, including exposure to cash flow modeling, asset backed loans and their administration, and/or three statement modeling * Independent thinking skills, with a hand on – “Can do” attitude Job Location Baltimore, MD, US.
