Job Description
The incumbent is responsible for financial planning and analysis, bond financing and derivatives, debt compliance, long-range forecasting, capital analysis, rating agency and investor communications, presentations and relations, and investment/credit banking relationships.
Job Essentials:
Works closely with Intermountain’s investment bankers and financing team in developing financing strategies that will maximize Intermountain’s capital structure, while carefully ensuring regulatory compliance and mitigating risk. The incumbent may be asked to present and defend financing strategies to senior management and/or the Finance Committee of the Board.
Responsible for preparation of bond documents and financing agreements, including the official statement, in conjunction with the issuance of bonds or other finance-related transactions. This would include gathering, calculating and presenting all of the requisite information, meeting with local municipalities that will participate in the issuance process, and working closely with the attorneys representing all of the various parties.
Responsible for managing ongoing investor and rating agency relations. Quarterly reports, investment presentations, rating agency presentations and communications, and ad hoc requests of bondholders are all included within this responsibility. It will also be important for the incumbent to monitor industry trends and benchmark with peer systems.
Responsible for analyzing, forecasting and determining required amounts and sources of funding. Relied upon to ensure that sources and uses of cash coincide with system strategies and the maintenance of Intermountain’s bond ratings. Responsible for providing and monitoring key ratios that are frequently reported to senior management and the Board.
Works closely with central office and regional personnel to assess the business viability and financial strategies relating to major capital investments.
Responsible for generating a high volume of Board-level reports and presentations. The deliverables are always expected to be accurate, professional, and compelling.
Analyzes financing alternatives and makes recommendations to the AVP of Financial Planning & Capital Investment.
Responsible for the completion of special projects from the AVP of Financial Planning & Capital Investment, Vice President of Finance, and/or the Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer.
Minimum Requirements
Masters Degree in business with at least 6 years of experience with investment banking and capital structures -OR- Bachelors Degree with at least 8 years of experience with investment banking and capital structures; Degree is verified and must be obtained through an accredited institution
Excellent financial analysis and reporting skills and expert understanding of financial statements
Expert communication skills (both written and oral)
Ability to effectively manage others
Broad experience analyzing and interpreting legal contracts and tax documents
Ability to analyze complex financing vehicles and communicate easily and effectively with attorneys and tax specialists
Preferred Qualifications
Broad experience with tax-exempt debt (healthcare-related or otherwise)
Robust understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and asset valuations
Ability to generate and deliver error-free and compelling written and PowerPoint presentations
