Director of Financial Aid
POSITION: Reporting to the Campus President the Director will serve as the financial aid expert for the campus, cultivating positive, supportive relationships with lending institutions, guarantee agencies and regulatory entities as well as campus and corporate personnel.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Company has multiple campuses across the country that are typically facilities of 110,000 to 250,000 square feet of classroom and lab space with a student enrollment at peak utilization of up to 2500 with a staffs of 100 to 170 employees. The Director, Financial Aid provides leadership at the campus level and manages a staff of 10 to 12 Financial Aid Advisors and 2 Supervisors.
Key to success in the position and the company is to “live” the culture and core values of the Company.
Typical Responsibilities Include:
Manage the campus Financial Aid Department.
Interview and hire staff members as needed.
Responsible for the technical training of new employees and updating existing staff.
Monitor the student financial assistance process to ensure that “Financial Aid Packages” are submitted and funds received.
Monitor the award processing of grant programs and Perkins funds, ensuring that institutional allocations of SEOG/Perkins are awarded, but not overextended.
Responsible for ensuring that all Stafford/PLUS/UNSUB and Sallie Mae ALT Loans are completed correctly and in a timely manner.
Monitor the timeliness of all 1st, 2nd, and 3rd academic year loan activity.
Achieve measured default rates at established goals.
Monitor and control department budget to plan.
Lead the department to participate in programs targeted to improve retention, customer satisfaction and show rates.
Ensure the professional development of staff.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Our client seeks an individual with at least five years of directexperience in an administrative position in the financial aid office of an accredited public or private post secondary school.
A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.

Knowledge of personal computer software applications including MS Office, Excel and Access.
