Job Description: Our busy and growing client is adding aDirector of Financeto their team. They are looking for someone with a strong financial background and the desire to grow with an industry leader.
The Director of Finance will report to the VP of Finance and responsibilities will include: * Provide leadership through promoting and maintaining the financial well-being of the organization. * Provide oversight of all Accounting, Payroll and Financial Reporting departments. * Support Vice President of Finance with mentoring finance staff members at all locations and overseeing finance positions at head office. * Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and reporting processes. * Provide advice and guidance to senior finance staff for understanding and applying regulatory business rules to accounting procedures. * Direct the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets and management reports. * Develop and maintain financial metrics analysis and operational efficiency analyses, including customer acquisition costs and profitability analysis. * Works closely with all levels of management to ensure financial accuracy, integrity and understanding of variances. The qualified candidate will possess the following: * CA or CMA designation with 5 to 8 years senior accounting/financial experience(reporting, policy, process). * Strong GAAP and CICA handbook knowledge (IFRS exposure an asset). * Strong Excel Spreadsheet skills (Expert level an asset). * Knowledge and ability to work with Financial accounting systems and consolidation packages. * Extremely well organized and works well under deadlines and timetables. * Strong financial and management reporting background with internal control focus. * Ability to solve problems and make necessary decisions to move forward the work at hand. * Ability to work within a changing environment and deal effectively with some ambiguity. * Strong communication skills, oral and written with the ability to communicate persuasively; provides necessary information to direct reports to enable them to do their work efficiently.
