Detailed Description
Delivery Responsibilities
Lead and/or support complex projects independently
Provide Subject Matter Expertise in financial services business process effectiveness (e.g., core banking, trading, back-office, policy administration) and the supporting technology.
Advise clients on trends in the Financial Service Industry and the IT trends that will impact the industry
Perform scenario analysis, develop business cases, and develop financial models for assessing multiple IT solutions
Mentor others in key business and technology areas.
Coach and train team members in organizational, business, behavioral, and technical skills.
Exercise good judgment on scope management and change control process and implications (workplans, deliverables and team resources) based on complex client situations.
Effectively build strong delivery teams by enabling creativity, contributions of ideas, and alignment to common goals
Plan and facilitate significant client meetings.
Influence the clients’ thinking in many cases.
Effectively interact with key client business and IT executives and management (business and / or technical).
Business Development Responsibilities
Support sales efforts from a thought leadership/subject matter expertise perspective in a given offering as well as providing tactical sales support (development of compelling proposals and other pursuit documents).
Contribute to account plan development.
Support the management of designated client accounts.
Proactively seek ways to collaborate with industry, practice and sales leaders from all parts of Gartner to identify target markets and to develop pursuit strategies.
Support sales partners in the successful close and negotiation of complex deals.
Develop opportunity plans and present to Deal Review Board.
Job Requirements
Job Qualifications:
Extensive IT and financial services consulting and project management experience. Experience with large IT Financial Services business systems planning, procurement, and/or development. Experience and qualifications being considered include:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance, or Business Administration
- MBA, MMA, or MIS (with a concentration in Finance) preferred
Experience
- 8 to 12 years of total experience working in or consulting to Financial Services clients. Of the total experience, at least half (and the most recent) of the experience will have been in a capacity of "hands on" Tier 1 management consulting experience in conducting IT strategy level consulting projects in financial services.
- Knowledge of a broad range of information technologies related to FSI
- Extensive financial services experience and related business process/business application knowledge in at least one FSI segment
- Program and project management experience
- Excellent track record in managing large strategy level consulting engagements.
- Strong project oversight/IV&V experience for large system implementation projects.
