Director, FinanceProvide timely and accurate financial reporting, support and consultation to dedicated business groups, Stryker Corporate and division's Senior Managers. Lead and engage a team of finance professionals. • Provide leadership to the finance team and to the dedicated business unit on the financial condition of that unit and its impact on the division's business performance. • Oversee and direct reporting, budgets & forecasts for business unit expenses, inventory, and/or sales targets. • Review and approve capital expense requests, which including providing appropriate financial justification for all capital investments. • Ensure there is appropriate review and analysis of inventory, including inventory disposals, UPI calculation, monthly reporting, and reserve calculations. • Oversee standard cost setting process. • Maintain appropriate internal control documents. • Oversee headcount budget vs. actual for business unit. • Oversee annual transfer pricing methodology. • Manage the business unit finance team, including selection/hiring, objective-setting, performance management, compensation management, discipline/termination, coaching & development, and training. • Lead the Recon sales organization in formulating financial strategy and objectives. • Lead the financial planning processes for Recon sales (budget, projection, strategic plan) to ensure plans are aligned with organization strategy. • Partner with management team to address business/budget performance issues and areas of opportunity. • Manage the talent within area of responsibility to develop bench strength and succession planning.
Qualifications/Work Experience
• 7 years experience providing financial support/consultation to a large, complex organization. • 4 years successful experience in a people management role. • Prior combined experience in both Public & Private accounting preferred. • 3 years experience supporting large business units, including manufacturing, distribution and/or sales. • Demonstrated ability to influence other senior leaders to set strategy and accomplish financial goals of the organization. • Demonstrated ability to handle both strategic and tactical financial issues. • Demonstrated experience building a proactive, service oriented, responsive Finance function. • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access; proficiency in Hyperion and PRMS preferred.
Education and/or Special Training
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA preferred. Formal training in Sarbanes Oxley and other key financial regulations.
