Summary Job Description:
The primary responsibilities of the role are the leadership of the Financial Operations team in support of all the “non-banner” operational areas. This role is responsible for managing and challenging expenses so that expenses are within or under budget. This role is highly focused on providing financial leadership and guidance to the executive teams in each respective banner as well as the shared services areas contributing to the overall strategic direction of the organization.
Key Accountabilities
Supports Operational VPs across all Enterprise functions to ensure overall Programs and Priorities are well communicated and understood across the organization
Ongoing interaction with Banner CFOs, Merchant Planning VPs and Corporate Finance senior executive team to ensure clarity with, and alignment to high level objectives
Credit & Financial Services
Primary contact with external party for all financial matters including contract negotiations
Analysis and ROI relating to all credit matters
Loyalty/Rewards
Financial oversight and control over rewards program
Primary financial contact with Actuaries and Auditors surrounding management of P&L and corresponding financial procedures/controls
Key contact for IFRS implementation and corresponding roll-out of new financial procedures relating to compliance.
Gift Card
Financial oversight and control of Gift Card liability and financial processes
Marketing
Financial oversight and control over Corporate Marketing budget and capital
Primary contact for Banner Presidents/Marketing VPs/Banner CFOs relating to financial management of this spend.
Logistics & Supply Chain
Financial oversight and control of logistics & supply chain spend
Primary contact for SVP Logistics relating to all financial management matters
Information Services
Financial oversight and control of IS spend (expense and capital)
Key contact for CIO relating to financial management of aforementioned
E-Retail
Financial management of E-Retail expenditures and corresponding business case for re-launch
Providing accurate Financial Reporting for the Enterprise group
Long range planning with multiple strategic inputs (merchandise planning real estate strategy, multi channel and operational)
General Responsibilities:
Achievement of Sales and Profit objectives for Hudson’s Bay Co.
Organization, development and leadership of high performance teams
Key Qualifications for Role:
Professional accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA) with 5 – 10 years business experience
Previous experience in an Retail environment would be extremely beneficial
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills - ability to influence internal customers and provide value-added services
Experience in a retail organization is beneficial
Strategic thinker and ability to see the big picture for Hbc
Strong modeling skills related to DCF, ROIC, RONA, ROE
Analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving aptitude
Experience in development of a high-performing team
