Director - Cost Accounting
Overview:
Manage and oversee Accounting for Cost of Goods Sold. Responsible for standard costing of replenishment warehouse inventory as well as annual physical inventory. Records all Mark Down Allowances for private label goods in the store.
Key Accountabilities:
Oversee the costing of all merchandise in the replenishment warehouse.
Responsible for matching all freight and duty functions (from payments to ledger to reporting)
Record freight and duty standard cost variances.
Responsible for tracking merchant loads and reporting monthly to the merchants
Responsible for the processing, approval, and reporting of all private brand markdowns.
Issues weekly gross margin reporting.
Keeps track of period costs in cost of goods sold
Responsible for verifying and approving all logistics invoices for accuracy.
Various balance sheet account reconciliation /or schedules.
Oversee replenishment warehouse general ledger accounting and the reporting of all related inventory balances.
Reconcile differences between multiple inventory systems.
Perform annual physical inventory.
Analyze all warehouse accounts against actual payment offset.
Detailed Accountabilities:
Support MMG by maintaining schedules on EDI and other load information down to the department level.
Oversee the billing of Foreign, outside, and third party customers, including the preparation of commercial invoices for customs clearance.
Special accounting related projects assigned by the Vice President of Finance.
Skills Summary/Experience:
Bachelors in Accounting or related studies
Import & Wholesale manufacturing business experience
Proficiency in Excel and Word
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Organized and detail orientated.
