Job Title Director - Accounting Job Function and Key Duties & Responsibilities - Manages a team within the Budget & Cost Division responsible for GAAP, Statutory and Management Reporting for expenses.
- Responsible for the accounting of deferrable expenses for the Life Insurance and Annuity Business Units.
- Review and analyze the pre-allocated Actual vs. Plan expenses on a monthly basis for Business Units and Corporate Departments and investigate variances as needed.
- Review and analyze expense allocations for the business units.
- Assists in the coordination of the Corporate Budget/Planning process.
- Provides variance explanations to internal customers on allocated and pre-allocated expenses.
- Review and analyze the accounting for the Employees and Agents Pension and Post Retirement Plans.
- Work closely with internal and external auditors as needed.
- Ensure procedural documentation is kept current for all of the team responsibilities and constantly look for automation opportunities.
- Support the Company's Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

- Strong analytical skills a must.
- Ability to work in a face paced environment and shift priorities as necessary.
