Position Purpose: Level 1, 2 & 3 Administration, Maintenance & Monitoring of all major Database Platforms. Database Administration tasks include planning, engineering, installation, upgrades, security, support, and operational aspects of the environment. Key Accountabilities: . Database production and development support
. Responsible for Database software installation, upgrade, migration, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, development support, database security, interface with database vendors, and evaluate vendor products
. Enhance and automate Database Infrastructure of Oracle, MS SQL Server, Sybase and Sybase IQ platforms using languages like PERL, JAVA and UNIX Shell
. Setup and enhance monitoring using MoM, Nagios and Managed Objects
. Responsibilities include day-to-day database administration support of all database platforms in the environment
. Server and Query performance and tuning
. On-call 1-2 times a week including holidays to cater to 24/7 support Job Requirements: (Knowledge/ Experience): REQUIRED
. A minimum of 10 years of experience in Database Administration in a multi-platform environment. Databse Platforms include MS SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, and Sybase IQ
. Languages like PERL, JAVA and UNIX Shell for automation
. Server and Query performance and tuning skills are mandatory
. Extensive knowledge of UNIX and Wndows platform
. Good verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED
. Investment banking experience
. Experience in Sybase 15 migrations Required Skills/ Competencies/ Attributes:
