About the Position:
Title Source is looking for a Database Administrator / Developer to join the Data Operations team. The DBA / Developer will work closely with both our Database Administrator and our Data Warehouse Engineer to write efficient SQL code in our transaction processing databases and our data warehouse. We need you to have strong SQL skills and a passion for relational databases; experience with dimensional modeling and OLAP cube design is a plus. If you're the type of person that keeps your skills sharp, is constantly reading about new technology and participates in online communities for database administrators then you're the type of person we are looking for.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with of our Database Administrator to write stored procedures for our application developers - Optimize query performance - Work with our Data Warehouse Engineer to create ETL jobs to map data in our production databases to our data warehouse - Develop Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) cubes for rapid access to aggregated data - Participate in an on-call rotation - Participate in monthly production code pushes after regular business hours
Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience - A passion for relational databases and an interest in dimensional modeling - Strong SQL development skills - Understanding of database normalization and database normal forms - 2+ Years development with a relational database (SQL Server, Oracle or similar) - Must be a self starter who enjoys solving challenging problems
Additional Desired Skills:
- Experience working with a data warehouse and an understanding of star schema and database denormalization - Experience working with the MDX query language
