Credit & Portfolio Group Manager
Description Global Industries & Regional Markets ("GIRM") proactively manages the Corporate and Public Sector exposure of Citi's Markets & Banking clients throughout the world. Responsibilities include credit analysis, credit approval, and active monitoring of the portfolio to identify credit migration. GIRM partners with the Global Portfolio Optimization teams in New York and London to use risk mitigation tools available in today's capital markets. GIRM works in parallel with the Citi Markets & Banking bankers and product specialists. Working in conjunction with the bankers, we are able to make informed decisions through an understanding of the credit, structure and profitability features of each relationship. GIRM has about 500 employees in more than 50 countries throughout the world. GIRM is organized along an industry and regional matrix with Global Industry heads and Regional heads responsible for North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East, and Africa.
Credit & Portfolio Group Manager - Technology
Director - Senior Credit Officer (SCO) Portfolio: • Maintain and manage a portfolio of approximately 140 global multi-national clients • Responsible for $20Billion OSUC portfolio • Responsible for an integrated, forward-looking approach to assessing and managing market, credit and operational business risk • Responsible for all credit underwriting standards and adherence to credit policy • Provide senior level leadership in maintaining an objective and independent credit view and articulating well-supported credit recommendations • Lead global portfolio reviews, and stress tests for Technology business • Provide ongoing analysis, tracking, and risk monitoring of portfolio companies • Provide early identification of potential problem credits • Direct interaction with local regulators, auditors and CRR requests for all credit related matters • Special projects as required for GIRM business
Management:
• Manage 3 direct reports (2 Vice President's and Associate) as well as indirectly analysts in GIRM pool - lead deal structuring, sector reviews, annual reviews and transaction memos
• Train and mentor direct and indirect staff
Interface with Banking and Products:
• Interface with origination and product specialists to approve transactions, review credit exposure strategy and develop proactive plan for all assigned names • Solid knowledge of bank products, including derivatives
Risk Mitigation:
• Work with banking coverage, Global Head of TMT and Banking book to execute risk strategies while supporting revenue opportunities to maximize return of portfolio
Reporting Line:
• Reports to Global Head of Technology, Media and Telecommunication (TMT)
Qualifications • 8+ years of risk or banking experience • Strong understanding of corporate finance • Strong Leadership and management skills • Successful track record of mentoring junior staff • Demonstrated strong verbal and written skills, interpersonal skills and analytical and problem solving skills • Ability to balance risk/reward proposition on complex client situations/credits and make and implement credit decisions accordingly • Exceptional influencing skills with capability to provide effective advice to seniors and product/banking partners • In-depth knowledge of banking products, including capital markets and derivative products • Solid quantitative/financial and modeling skills/experience • Ability to meet deadlines • Solid understanding of relevant Risk Policies and Procedures
