Provide credit expertise, knowledge andsupport to the Credit Audit team to ensure effective and high quality elop and maintain specialization and expertise in specific areas of financialservices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Following is a summary of theessential functions for this job. Other Duties may be performed, both major andminor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from timeto time. 1. Enhance Credit Audit assignments by assisting in the development ofaudit programs and scope through risk evaluations and regulatory insights. ticipate in audit activities where subject matter expertise is essential foreffective audit execution. 3. Partner with Credit line of business managers andorganizational risk managers to support and improve risk management by: ommending improvements to risk management systems and processes, b. Having ahigh level of understanding of the business strategies of BB&T, each line ofbusiness, and the specific area or process under review, c. Being veryknowledgeable of the organization, operations, policies, and procedures(including credit-related laws & regulations and lending risk managementpractices), d. Proactively supporting management on the establishment ofinternal controls, monitoring techniques, and risk management, e. Advocatingincorporation of risk management in the implementation of new systems,processes, and changes to existing systems and procedures, f. Representing Auditon more complex and/or critical bank task forces, and g. Utilizing expertise infinancial services. 4. Develop and maintain specialization and expertise incredit-related lines of business. Keep abreast of current trends, newdevelopments, technologies, and practices in the auditing profession, bankingindustry, and lending industry. Serve as a coach for areas of tinue developing knowledge of auditing, lending activities and regulatorychanges affecting the lending arena. Pursue continuing education and possibleadditional professional certifications as appropriate. 5. Develop and maintaincommunications with management in areas of specialization to ensure effectiveworking relationships. Assist management in establishing internal controls byconsulting in the implementation of new systems, processes, and changes toexisting systems, standards and procedures. 6. Coordinate and performrisk-related special projects/consulting for audit management. 7. Maintain RiskProfile Information used to prioritize and evaluate the business processeswithin each line of business. 8. Participate in the development of thedepartment's Corporate goals. Provide guidance to Credit Audit teams in deliveryof audit and consulting services. Provide leadership in development of CreditAudit team members' knowledge of lending activities and regulatory guidance. ntain relationships with external auditors/bank examiners and assist in thecoordination efforts to ensure prompt and efficient completion of theirexamination. 10. Train/coach/mentor Credit Audit team members to enhanceachievement of goals and objectives. Provide training on more complex anddifficult areas. Required Skills and Competencies: The requirements listed beloware representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Six years of relevant work experience 3. The ability to workindependently 4. The ability to provide the necessary expertise to allow for theeffective execution of risk reviews for credit-related activities 5. Advancedknowledge, ability, and expertise in credit areas of banking and financialservices 6. Demonstrated experience in the risk evaluation and/or audit ofcredit-related activities 7. Substantial leadership experience, decision makingskills, and advanced client service consulting skills and ability 8. Excellentunderstanding of lending operations, changing credit environment, and riskmanagement 9. Solid understanding of risk management and process concepts ong project management and consulting skills 11. Strong analytical,facilitation, interpersonal and decision-making skills 12. Excellent written,verbal, and negotiation skills 13. Solid auditing skills and a broadunderstanding of banking and financial services 14. PC literate on BB&Tstandard software packages 15. Possesses creativity, ability to think"outside the box" 16. Demonstrated ability to be a team player bothinside and outside the department 17. Ability to travel as needed, occasionallyovernight Desired Skills 1. Graduate degree in a business-related field ulatory background 3. Professional certification 4.
