The Director of SEC Reporting is responsible for accurate financial reporting and timely filing of all SEC reports.Ability to stay appraised of, research and arrive at well reasoned conclusions on technical accounting issues.Clear and concise written documentation of GAAP applicable to new transactions.Implement requisite operational and documentation changes arising from new GAAP and SEC rules.Continued improvement in the preparation of financial statements and SEC reports.Effective communication skills with senior and executive management for all levels and departments of our company.
SEC Filings (Two accelerated and one non-accelerated filer)
Direct a staff of 5- 8 people
Complete and file with the SEC all quarterly, annual and other requisite SEC filings in a timely manner
Preparation of earnings scripts and press releases.
Assist Legal with the preparation of the Annual Meeting materials and proxy statement
Coordination for the issuance of the Annual Report
Coordinate and aid in the preparation of debt/equity transactions, including the requisite registrations
Coordination of the Disclosure Committee, Legal and other departmental meetings for the purposes of identifying requisite disclosures
Continuous review and monitoring of competitors? filings to ensure our disclosures are in line with our peer group
Work closely with technical accounting group on technical SEC-related and other issues
Assist technical accounting group, as necessary, with researching accounting issues and drafting technical accounting memos
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university and 8 - 10 years of related experience are required. A minimum of 5 years in a formal leadership role is necessary. 3-8 years of work experience in public accounting is preferable. MBA and/or CPA designation are a plus.
