Responsible for providing advice and analysis to WellPoint senior management regarding merger, acquisition, joint venture, investment or divestiture transactions. Primary duties to include, but are not limited to: Responsible for identification and qualification of transaction candidates. Provides oversight of valuation analysis and financial modeling. Manages due diligence processes. Contributes to deal structuring/negotiations and creative execution of ad hoc projects such as investigation of industry trends. Addresses reasonably complex analytic issues and independently manages transaction participants including internal business unit, corporate shared services staff, and external advisors (e.g., lawyers, investment bankers, accountants). Mentor junior Corporate Development staff.
Requirements:
Requires a BA/BS degree; Finance MBA; 5 years of experience at a consulting firm or investment bank involving significant mergers and acquisitions; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and finance theory required.
