Corporate Controller
We are currently performing a search for a Corporate Controller with one of the fastest growing companies in the Bradenton/Sarasota area which is a leader in its industry. Summary:
The Corporate Controller will be responsible for managing the accounting functions of the company and providing a professional level of controllership and accounting expertise to the business. The Corporate Controller will be responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of the company’s financial results and reporting requirements, and is responsible for directing the companies accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the CFO in running the day-to-day administration of the corporate accounting department including coordination of the month, quarter and year end close process
- Responsible for monthly closing of the General Ledger and preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow schedules and related variance.
- Participate in developing accounting controls and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes. Evaluate recurring monthly procedures and other areas of responsibility looking for process and control improvements and implementing scalable processes
- Review and approve journal entries. Interact with accounting department supervisors and team members in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger analysis and reporting on an ongoing basis and review the departments work product and analyses
- Coordinate and organize the quarterly financial review and annual financial audit process by acting as key interface with the external audit firm
- Act as liaison and support field personnel as necessary
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred
- Prior public accounting experience preferred
- 7 or more years progressive accounting experience
- Strong supervisory experience
- Must enjoy a hands on environment
