Description: Reporting to the CFO of the Wealth Management unit, the Controller will oversee the day-to-day controllership operations of our Wealth Management business. Our growing business platform includes business units located in Pleasant Hill, California (our home office), La Jolla, CA, Schaumburg, IL, Phoenix, AZ as well as smaller operations in Encino, CA, Redlands, CA, Evergreen, CO and Chicago, IL.
This individual must have a strong commitment to quality and productivity, possess strong leadership/management skills, have a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and must be able to work well within a cross-cultural team environment.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to: . Lead a diverse team across multiple offices with varying degrees of accounting expertise (bookkeepers to CPA) . Oversee day-to day controllership operations of business (receipts, disbursements, reconciliations,) . Monitor business activities to ensure compliance with Corporate Policies, such as T&L, purchase orders, sourcing, capitalization of fixed assets . Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of daily processes . Oversee monthly close process . Responsible for the balance sheets of all WM legal entities, and making sure that supporting schedules are maintained for reconciliations . Individually perform and oversee all aspects of GAAP and FINRA reporting for business . Responsible for proper accounting and function of administrative system feeds into Oracle ledger . Review and approve wire, ACH and EWD disbursements . Maintain strong communication with corporate (Analytics, Financial statement review) . Strong project management skills (examples include. dividend processes, transition of account reconciliations, new function integration, etc.) . Establish and emphasize customer service level agreements with key customers - Internally, Corporate, IT, Sales, and Product . Support Compliance and Audit Work . 7 or more years of progressively challenging finance/accounting experience including proven management experience . Implementing / Maintaining Operational Controllership
Requirements: . CPA or other equivalent designation . BS in Accounting or Other Related Field . Financial Services experience . Proven financial analysis skills . Knowledge in full-cycle accounting-operational understanding of how financial data should filter through a reporting system . Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements . Demonstrated ability to work within project deadlines . Strong Communication skills
Preferred Skills . MBA in Finance or Other Related Field . Knowledge of Oracle GL applications
