We are searching for Corporate Controller to assist in managing the Financial Reporting, Accounting, (outsourced - only preparation of partnership tax workpapers for outside CPA firm)Taxation & Strategic Business Projects functions. The right candidate must be well qualified to oversee the corporate financial reporting function, management of the outsourced partnership tax function, as well as supporting the Senior Financial Management Team of the company with accounting and analytical project work. A combination of CPA firm and corporate accounting function experience is ideal. This position will be responsible for several areas in the Accounting/Finance department. This position may be required to perform all or a combination of the following essential functions as determined by business necessity:
Responsibilities:
Tax Accounting & Compliance
All aspects of the outsourced Partnership Tax accounting and Tax compliance.
Coordinate and oversee the outsourced preparation of federal consolidated income tax returns, and state and local state taxation, partnership/LLC returns including K-1s
Coordinate and oversee the preparation and review of estimated and extension payment calculations
Responsible for all communication regarding timing of tax distributions and preparation to required individuals
Develop long-term vision and roadmap for enhancements to corporate tax function
Research complex partnership tax issues and then make clear and concise conclusions from your research
Act as an liaison with operating divisions on deal structuring as it relates to tax compliance
Manage tax compliance calendar and preparation of federal and state quarterly estimated tax calculations and payments
Lead enhancements of tax return and tax accounting data systems; coordinate tax systems with enhancements of company-wide accounting systems
Provide internal management and informational support for federal and state tax audits
Act as an liaison with operating divisions on sales tax matters
Support international tax matters and research
Assisting with other special tax projects
Internal Control Systems:
Plan, develop and implement SOX compliance program
Document financial and operational processes
Performs specialized compliance reviews/audits
Accounting:
Maintain accounting responsibility for certain compensation and bonus programs
Coordinate related schedules on shareholder distributions and redemptions. Coordinate payments, reporting and distributions of all related material
Maintain the Corporate Entity Ownership Chart and all supporting changes
Understand, enhance and support current process as it relates to monthly consolidation of companies financial statements
Qualifications
1) 7 - 25 + years of relevant experience (mix of public accounting and corporate accounting / tax experience is ideal.)
2) Knowledge of Partnership Tax function (outsourced to CPA firm)
3) Desire / Ability to do work on highly visible analytic projects for the CFO and Senior Accounting & Finance Group Leadership Team.
