Job Description:

Position Description:

We are looking for a Commercial Loan Officer to support the lending activities of the Member Business Loan department by providing insightful and timely credit analysis of prospective and current borrowers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

. Perform an in-depth underwriting analysis of each borrower's character, credit worthiness, and financial condition.
. Provide analytical support to senior lending personnel.
. Analyze financial statements and related material to prepare written credit analysis of individual and corporate borrowers.
. Prepare approval memorandums for presentation to appropriate lending authorities.
. Conduct and present industry research.
. Interact with servicing institutions or organizations at the direction of the senior credit personnel.
. Investigate all available sources of credit and financial information, including reporting services, credit bureaus, and agencies.
. Perform specific portfolio analysis at the direction of senior credit personnel.
. Assist with committee and Board of Director reporting.
. Develop credit information for use by senior credit personnel in lending decisions on new loans, renewals, and extensions.
. Prepare summaries, present facts, and offer opinions concerning credit-worthiness.
. Ensure that all credit files are organized and include current information.
. Analyze commercial property financial information to determine actual income, expenses, and projected debt service.
. Review credit reports, appraisals, environmental reports, title reports, and other documents for collateral property.
. Document approval actions.
. Perform interim and annual reviews of individual loans to determine the appropriate grading.
. Contribute to organizational projects and improvement initiatives.
. Conduct, or assist with, off-site due diligence reviews on third-party servicers.
. Conduct, or assist with, off-site inspections of commercial real estate collateral.
. Provide input and suggestions relating commercial workout and restructure situations.
. Administer a portfolio loans for initial and ongoing performance and compliance to policy.


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
. Developed knowledge of credit and financial research and analysis techniques.
. Strong understanding of loan risk factors.
. Strong written and oral communication skills.
. Strong ability to effectively discuss complex loan related matters.
. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
. Ability to work on multiple projects/loans simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes.
. Demonstrated proficiency and capability in word processing and spreadsheet software.
. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of credit and customer information.
. Strong understanding of workout and restructure regulatory guidance.
. Strong understanding of accounting guidance and pronouncements related to loan origination and administration.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
. College degree in the areas of Finance, Accounting, or related major required.
. Math aptitude and analytical skills required.
. Knowledge of general accounting principles required.
. Three of more years experience working with commercial or business lending portfolios preferred.
. Knowledge of SBA guidelines, processes, and regulations governing servicing actions preferred.
