The Senior Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for identifying and developing potential commercial lending opportunities within a targeted segment of the Bank's marketing area to meet established goals and objectives. He/she calls on prospective borrowers and potential referral sources. Interviews applicants to obtain and develop information and assesses credit history to determine acceptability of loan risk. Works with the Credit Department in the analysis of financial data for new or renewed loans and issues joint recommendations regarding loan acceptability. Makes decisions on loans and terms within lending limits and authority based upon sound underwriting standards and practices. Recommends more significant loans to Credit Committee for approval. Identifies prospective clients and referral sources which may provide future business for the Bank. Cross-sells Bank products and services. Maintains effective business relationships with customers to ensure retention of existing businesses.
Language, reasoning, and analytical skills at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelors Degree and/or equivalent professional experience. Accounting background and experience in credit analysis preferred. Working knowledge of loan products is required. Five to seven years' commercial loan experience.
