Oversees and manages commercial loan portfolio.
- Analyzes the credit history of applicants and determines their loan repayment capabilities.
- Negotiates credit terms, such as costs, loan repayment methods and collateral specifications.
- Develops and maintains interest rate structure to be consistent with financial institution policies and procedures and to be competitive with current market rates.
- Evaluates potential customer loan requests to make loan recommendations to management and present the loan to the Loan Committee if necessary.
- Reviews new laws and regulations that influence business lending within the Bank and make recommendations to management when necessary.
- Provides assistance and recommends training for new commercial loan officers.
- Develops new customer prospects and business for the financial institution.
- May assist in servicing loans by processing such items as payoffs, refinances,
problem loan work-out arrangements and changes of address.
- Continually engages in outside solicitation of all types of loans, by making sales
calls, and keeping customers informed of current loan rates, terms, and procedures.
- Processes in house appraisals.
- Reviews tax returns.
- Assists in Branch operations as needed.
- Responsible to collect all past due loans within their portfolio.
- Participate in community functions as necessary to be a representative of the Bank.
- Acts as Opening/Closing Officer when needed.
- Makes Officer Calls and cross-sells services in a professional manner.
- Performs all tasks in a confidential manner.
- Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor?s degree in business, finance or other related field.
- A minimum of five years of commercial lending experience.
- Proven track record of meeting commercial loan portfolio goals.
- A high level of interpersonal skills to conduct productive interview sessions with
loan applicants and solicit and maintain dealer accounts.
- A thorough understanding of the requirements and features of all loan programs
offered by the Bank to provide related information to applicants.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial lending policies and procedures.
- Skilled in the analysis of financial statements and tax returns.
- The analytical ability to conduct an analysis of an applicant?s credit status and
recommend alternatives where the analysis reveals an insufficient financial posture.
- Good managerial, communication and sales skills.
