Harleysville has an excellent opportunity for a CL Business and Understanding Rules Developer to join our Commercial Lines Underwriting Small Market team which is located at our Home Office in Harleysville PA. The individual in this role will be responsible for performing research and systems analysis in order to develop, modify, and/or enhance new or existing business applications. This individual consults with business users and IT staff to identify operational system requirements and defines technical specifications for the development of business rules. Last but not least, will develop rules application components and execute business rules to automate application performance and system compatibility.
The following are essential duties for this role which include but are not limited to: ? Develops, debugs, and tests business rules utilizing rules engine applications, databases, and various programming technologies ? Interacts with business users and systems subject matter experts for the purpose of defining rules ? Creates and executes various documentation (including plans, conditions, and scripts) based on technical and user requirements ? Performs systems analysis, verifies existing system logic difficulties, and provides system support ? Tracks production issues and provides technical solutions and recommendations ? Ensures that all applications adhere to high quality standards ? Develops rule maintenance applications and performs quality tests ? Coordinates work activities within a programming project team
Qualifications Education/Credentials: ? Bachelor's degree or equivalent ? Experience in information systems, computer science, or a business discipline ? Intro to Insurance, INS, SM, or AIT is preferred ? Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience as a Business or Functional Analyst is required
