The City of Clay Center is seeking a City Clerk. An exempt position with supervision of one office employee. Appointed by the mayor, applicants should have a degree in Business, Finance or closely related field and 3 to 5 years municipal management experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, computer and organizational skills. Above average skills for and a proven positive history of working well with the public is a must. The city clerk attends all council meetings, takes minutes and is the official record keeper for the city. City revenues and expenditures and payroll are handled by the clerks office.
