JOB SUMMARY:


Provides the day-to-day leadership and management to ensure that the proper operational policies, procedures, processes and controls are employed to facilitate the financial security and operating effectiveness of the company.  As part of the Senior Management team, helps create the company’s vision and direction, developing strategies, plans, and actions to assure that the company’s infrastructure – to include organization design, fiscal and risk oversight, information systems/technology, human resources, outside professional services, and other infrastructure areas – are established to support the strategic needs of the company. 


 


PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership


1.1.    Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs and evaluates the organization’s fiscal, business development, human resources, and information technology functions and performance


1.2.    Develops, executes, and monitors strategic plans and programs, both short and long range, to support business goals and the objectives of the organization.


1.3.    Provides strategic input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization, e.g., evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions and/or mergers and investments.


1.4.    Advises, negotiates, manages, and administers all contracts into which the Company may enter. Counsels the President/Owners on matters concerning the financial risk and rewards, as well as the business risks and liabilities, associated with entering into such contracts.


1.5.    Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key community and strategic partners.


1.6.    Maintains compliance with applicable federal, state and corporate regulations affecting the operations of the company (as opposed to compliance with regulations governing the deliverables that the company produces).


 


 


Operational


2.1.    Collaborates with the Senior Management Team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of policies, systems, processes, and staff to improve the overall operations and effectiveness of the organization.


2.2.    Provides day-to-day leadership and oversight of the financial, legal, human resource, information systems, and other infrastructure activities.


2.3.    Partners with members of the Senior Management Team to develop and ensure internal and external communications are coordinated, correctly convey the decisions and intent of Senior Management and are disseminated in a proper and constructive manner. 


2.4.    Resolves, with appropriate support from direct reports, conflicts in operational issues and personnel matters, facilitating change in the infrastructure as appropriate to ensure objective fulfillment and swift response to these problems and opportunities.



Staff Development/Management


3.1   Provides professional and technical guidance to direct reports and their staff.  


3.2   Ensures the professional development (education and training) of direct reports and their staff in matters of leadership, management, and continuing education in their respective areas. 


3.3   Provides direction to the team by establishing clear goals and objectives for performance.


3.4   Conducts performance evaluations and salary reviews of team.

QUALIFICATIONS:


(Knowledge, licenses, certifications, specialized skills, etc.)


 


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE


     Prior senior management / executive level experience in administration and/or finance required (CFO, COO,).  MBA, CPA/CMA, or JD preferred, but not necessary with the appropriate level of experience.  .  Preference is for a background in a CRO or health and life sciences professional consulting organization.  


 


LICENSES, CREDENTIALS, CERTIFICATIONS


     CPA or CMA preferred, not necessary

Success Factors


1. Success Factor 1: Within 12 months, establish a project tracking system to track operational efficiency


>        Within 2 months, review existing project tracking system and propose high level changes


>        Within 6 months, develop a plan for a new project tracking system



2. Success Factor 2: Within 9 months, have A-rated staff to handle 6 new $100k projects/month


>        Within 3 months, develop and present to CEO and Exec Team an organizational plan


>        Within 6 months, start hiring A+ staff as revenues increase



3. Success Factor 3: Within 12 months, improve gross profitability of XXXX by 5%


>        Within 3 months, develop tracking system for productivity


>        Within 6 months, establish revenue rates for team
