Controller, Centrifugal Products Division & Strategic Planning The Controller, Centrifugal Products Division (CPD) and Strategic Planning is primarily responsible for overall financial administration, statutory accounting and reporting activities for CPD and HBIs strategic planning activities. This includes ensuring a sound internal control environment, timely and accurate financial reporting, supporting operating and financial reporting systems, management of divisional assets and cash flows. Additionally, the Controller will collaborate with product and sales management leadership to consolidate recommendations for strategic investments related to product and business development. Activities are performed according to prescribed international accounting and financial reporting standards. In addition, compliance is required with various tax laws and regulations at the federal, state, and local levels. The scope of the position includes all activities for Howden Buffalo, Incorporateds CPD P&L along with select balance sheet responsibilities. The initial scope may expand during the phased business transformation. Location for this position is in HBIs N. American headquarters in Columbia, SC. 1. Policies, Procedures, and Internal Control: Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting, policies, procedures, and internal control for the division. Implement best practices for accounting transactions and management of cost accounting personnel. Analyze and interpret technical accounting and control issues related to project progress payments and total invoicing. Monitor and ensure accuracy of project costing. Ensure compliance with required controls identified in HBIs Internal Controls management process and resolve non-compliant issues immediately. Ensure Business Unit compliance with HBIs policies and procedures. Coordinate annual external audits and serve as liaison with external auditors. 2. Financial Administration: Liaise with HBIs centralized service activities, including payables, fixed assets, payroll, general ledger, travel and entertainment reporting, purchase card program, and sales & use tax reporting. Perform controllership activities for the division. Direct efforts to maximize divisional cash flow and return on invested capital. Liaise and coordinate with New Product Development teams to ensure financially realistic and viable business and strategic plans. 3. Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of financial information supported by appropriate documentation and analyses. Manage financial closing process for the division. Prepare and report HBI divisional financial data to Howden Group and Charter International PLC financial templates in accordance with current reporting guidelines. Analyze and interpret technical accounting issues to ensure compliance International Accounting Standards (IAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Communicate any financial impact that may materially affect HBIs financial position to HBIs President, CFO and Vice President. Assist HBI CFO and VP, where necessary, to correct any adverse performances. 4. Business Systems: Support and leverage the ERP Financial systems from a user perspective to achieve optimal finance function effectiveness and efficiency. Liaise with the central controller and manage financial reporting systems to ensure timely and accurate reporting to Charter International PLC for the division. Develop and implement new reporting systems and processes that enhance management decision-making and improve access to information. 5.
