Business Development Officer - Home Lending
Description Position Overview: Key responsibilities include to proactively build strong and productive relationships within our bank assessment areas with (i) not-for-profit housing and public agency entities, (ii) Citibank mortgage sales team, including Senior Lending Manager(s), Sales Development Consultant(s), and Home Lending Specialists, and (iii) Citibank branch personnel, including Branch Managers and Personal Bankers to promote and generate mortgage loans to meet and exceed community-lending goals. Primary Responsibilities: Facilitate, promote, and administer financial education, first-time homebuyers seminars, , and outreach efforts to generate qualified loans in to meet CRA and fair lending objectives and goals. Provide technical training to external non-profit relationship partners and to the Citibank mortgage sales team on community lending programs/products. Manage and cultivate relationships with non-profit organizations, housing authorities, housing finance agencies, and affordable housing developers that have initiatives, programs, or products designed to increase homeownership opportunities for low-income and minority individuals, families, and/or within targeted census tracts.
Develop relationships with these organizations to increase CRA and fair lending penetration in bank assessment areas.
Work with the CitiMortgage Strategic Markets team to assess, develop, and manage:
Community lending programs.
DAPs,/subsidies//deed restrictions (down payment and closing cost assistance).
Affordable Housing Development/Projects.
Develop specific business plans, including closed loan goals, for each product and program sponsored and managed. Serve on local boards for non-profit organization relationships; function as the subject matter expert in the lending community. Work closely with various internal constituencies to generate mortgage loans to meet CRA and fair lending objectives; these internal partners include the Citibank mortgage sales team, San Antonio and St. Louis Sales Center (telesales), Ann Arbor FHA/VA-CRA-Community Lending Operations team, CitiMortgage Strategic Markets team, Citi Community Development, and other internal business lines and/or support functions as needed. Gain a comprehensive understanding of CitiMortgage products, programs and policies. Identify community trends in relation to strategic markets and mortgages and effectively communicate how CitiMortgage programs can provide a solution to such lifications
· BA or equivalent experience · Minimum 5 years banking experience, and/or mortgage experience, preferably in loan origination · Experience working with Non Profit Organizations · Experience working with complex mortgage transactions specifically Low and Moderate borrowers using subsidies, down payment and/or other assistance. · Preferred experience in the community lending, first time homebuyer, and housing non-profit and/or federal/state/local housing advocacy agencies · Successful track record in sales and business development.
