Description
The successful candidate will:
* Support the Vice President Basic Petrochemicals with various analyses of operations, cost, profitability, market, and feed stock. * Prepare presentations and monthly reports. * Interface with joint venture partners, commercial managers, controlling group and others for business analysis and optimization discussions. * Validate as required performance under various joint venture contracts * Model cracker and C4 complex for scenario analysis of future structure of business * Provide analytical support for strategy development
Qualifications
* Degree in chemical engineering or chemistry required. Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, or financial related field or MBA is a plus. BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. * Multi-year experience in olefins industry. * Experience in financial modeling, scenario analysis, business planning is a must. * Experience with Linear Programming models is a plus. * Experience in translating complex contract structures into financial models. * Advanced knowledge of computer applications including Excel and PowerPoint. * SAP preferred. * Strong analytical skills required as well as the ability to think in strategic terms. * Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team. * Must be able to effectively communicate to and influence members of the business unit leadership team.
