Business Analyst
Provide support to the business units, and other analytical support as necessary. Follow established accounting practices to ensure the proper and accurate distribution of cost within the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Maintains the company's cost accounting system; makes recommendations for improvement as needed. • Provides cost estimation for new and existing products and participates in cost reduction initiatives. • Prepares and analyzes specific accounting statements and reports to assist in the preparation of financial statements, and other internal and external reports as required. • Coordinates with other departments to achieve cost planning targets. • Assists in development and transmissions of operating plan and strategic plan. • Analyzes monthly operating performance and profit projections for reporting and developing action items. • Develops overhead and labor standards. • Participates in monthly and yearly closing processes including journal entry preparation. • Assists with the development and maintenance of annual budgets. • Assists with related special projects as required. • Performs other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications/Work Experience
•Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access (Desired but not required) •Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence. •Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,and percentages, as well as analyze statistical and financial data. •Commitment to excellence and high standards. •Excellent written and verbal communication skills. •Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions •Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow. •Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees. •Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
Education and/or Special Training
•Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in accounting or related field or equivalent •CPA or currently pursuing certification preferred
