Budget Analyst
Description: The American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) located in Horn Lake, MS is looking for a qualified candidate to serve as the Budget Analyst with the following qualifications:
Summary Description: Performs professional level budget analysis of line item expenditures. Prepares and generates ad-hoc reports from financial software systems.
Major Responsibilities: • Consolidates individual departmental budgets into operating and capital budget summaries • Reviews budget reports and accounting records to determine if allocated funds have been spent as specified • Performs variance analysis of individual line items and suggests adjusting entries • Imports and exports raw data between spreadsheets and designated financial systems • Performs routine administrative tasks as assigned. • Prepares ad-hoc budget reports as required
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance and a minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, with at least two years in budgeting and forecasting for a non-profit or governmental agency
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s): Experience using computerized accounting systems such as JD Edwards and Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Knowledge and ability to use various office machines such as personal computers, calculators, copy machines, scanners, and printers • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing • Ability to work with minimum supervision under strict time constraints • Willingness to work flexible hours 4-5 days per week • Ability to work in an office environment under reasonable accommodations
