Job Description
Leads and directs key parts of our residential mortgage business, including product development, secondary marketing, investor relationships, servicing and CUSO opportunities for BCU. In this role, responsibilities will include pipeline management, establishing pricing and setting rates, outlining the parameters for selling on the secondary market and managing risks. BCU will look to this individual to broaden relationships with secondary investors, implement sound secondary market strategies and oversee the closing and shipping functions within the organization.
1. Responsible for evaluation, training and implementation for all new mortgage products.
2. Create and administer product templates on the Prime Alliance system that are consistent with company pricing and investor eligibility guidelines.
3. Product pricing, rate modeling, market/competitive analysis and evaluation of new investor relationships like direct FHA endorsement.
4. Develop, implement, and manage secondary marketing policies, pricing alternatives, and standards to ensure the interest rate and accumulation risks associated with the loans held for sale yield the expected gain on sale margins and overall profitability.
5. Manage lock administration and loan sale reporting activities for the company, including the creation and maintaining of rate sheets, and the oversight of the warehousing and shipping functions.
6. Oversees the servicing operations and ensures proper reconciliation to bank accounts and accounting records each month.
7. Develops robust unit cost to service model supporting continual efficiency and member service improvements.
8. Coordinate strategic servicing strategies with Cenlar to minimize risk and losses to the Investor(s) and increase servicer effectiveness.
9. Evaluate cooperative opportunities with other Credit Unions and CUSO's like title services, processing support and secondary marketing management.
10. Prepares appropriate analysis and reporting of key business processes, results and strategic plans for senior management, board of directors or other groups as needed.
11. Continuously evaluates process and technological improvements to better manage both the quality and efficiency of all aspects of operations under your control.
12. Responsible for overall staff performance which may include assigning and scheduling work, training, appraising performance, promotions/transfers, salary recommendations, interviewing and hiring, disciplinary discussions, and terminations of management/supervisory and staff level employees.
Job Requirements
•Bachelor's degree and 10+ years extensive mortgage lending experience in a credit union or banking environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Extensive knowledge of servicing, secondary marketing and real estate lending practices.
•Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills and aptitude.
•Good understanding and background in managing a loan portfolio's product line.
•Strong overall business acumen understanding lending financial drivers.
