The Mercury programme is a UBS Investment Bank wide initiative sponsored by the Group Risk Officer and the Investment Bank Chief Executive Officer and supported by the heads of the Front Office and Control functions across UBS Investment Bank.
This programme is in response to external regulatory demand to reallocate certain Investment Bank activities within UBS Legal Entities.
Your job is within one of the most high profile and well-respected IT teams in the City, building out the capabilities to allow our trading desks to actively manage credit and liquidity risks in the markets.
Your job is to take lead project management responsibility for the delivery of the "subsidiarisation" of the Counterparty & Treasury IT systems to fully recognise and support a bank wide initiative of re-allocating risk, PnL, Capital to specific UBS legal entities as requested by our external regulators.
You will work in close partnership with the IT development, quantitative analyst teams as well as key stakeholders across the IB Treasury Trading, Finance, Group Treasury, Market Risk and Credit Risk teams to define and implement the necessary changes to support this UBS wide initiative.
Your job will give wide exposure to senior decision makers within the Investment Bank. Requirements You are a hands-on Project Manager / Analyst with extensive experience in delivering complex portfolios of change across IT, Front Office, Middle Office and Back Office functions within the Counterparty Credit Risk & Treasury functions within an Investment Bank.
The candidate is expected to have a good background and knowledge of all elements of IT development and project lifecycles including business case development, budgeting/forecasting, project planning & definition of deliverables, defining user requirements, conducting structured analysis and functional & technical design, managing development, testing, release and post implementation cycles, risk & issues definition, management and escalation as well as communication at all levels. The ability to manage user expectations is essential as are time management and problem solving skills.
Essential experience includes: . Relevant business experience & knowledge of Credit / Counterparty risk analytics systems, Treasury systems and the control frameworks required to support . Proven track record of managing large scale, complex Front Office projects or leading analysis teams for similar . Have strong analytical & numerical skills and be structured and systematic in their approach . Enjoy working to deadlines to realise the business benefits associated with IT projects . Have good communication skills at a senior level with previous exposure and understanding of the roles of Finance / Treasury, Market Risk, Credit Risk and Front Office desks within an Investment Bank . Management of all areas of the project lifecycle and responsibility for ensuring that appropriate controls are in place to support successful deliveries on time and within agreed budgets . Proven, demonstrable experience in leading large (20+ ) teams in a matrix organisation
Desirable experience includes: . Familiarity with the systems architecture associated with a Risk Management function or Financial Systems in general . In-depth knowledge of one or more financial products which at least attract Credit Risk . Have experience of structured methods and tools . Have experience of data analysis; particularly in relation to Risk Management or Financial product processing . Demonstrable experience and knowledge of regulatory / audit frameworks & requirements for banking systems & processes supporting Capital / RWA calculations . Strong knowledge of Interest Rates and Credit derivatives covering pricing, capture, risk management, and P&L . Experience working in an agile and iterative environment, using test driven development and similar practices . Appreciation of IT system architecture .
