The Bankruptcy Specialist I is responsible for working with the current outsource vendor to meet designated timeframes for loans in bankruptcy. Monitor and maintain accurate information on loans, guide loans through the default process, ensure minimal turn-around time and expected timelines. Must have a good working knowledge of escrow analysis and how it is collected through the bankruptcy plan.

Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Responsible for low level risk analysis on bankruptcy loans and apply bankruptcy code requirements to those loans. * Must be able to obtain multiple workout solutions and determine the course of action to minimize risk. * Respond timely and accurately to all outsource vendor and attorney requests. * Monitors escalated cases to ensure all required actions are taken and deadlines are met. * Respond to bankruptcy-related customer questions; assist with bankruptcy projects as needed. * Review reports and identify loans that require attention and make the necessary corrections. * Identify potential problems and communicate to management timely. * Review and/or prepare accurate bankruptcy posting ledgers for attorneys. * Complete detail research/account auditing as necessary. * Assist management in quality assurance with vendor relationships to ensure quality of service and to ensure departmental goals are met.

Education: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University preferred. Work Experience: * 1-2 years bankruptcy experience. * Knowledge of servicing or equivalent mortgage industry experience preferred. * Knowledge of MortgageServ preferred. * Proficient use of office equipment. Computer Software Skills: * Outlook * Word * Excel Other Computer Skills: * Basic knowledge of windows for PC applications. * Basic Excel and Word Skills . Other Skills: * Ability to analyze and solve complex problems. * Ability to handle multiple tasks . * 10-key. * Organizational skills to meet specific time frames. * Good verbal and written communication skills. * Basic knowledge of the mortgage industry.
