The Assoc. Mgr./ Manager Strategy of Quaker Foods will be involved with the strategic issues and involved with providing insights on the critical issues facing the Quaker Foods & Snacks business unit. Overall, this professional's time is spent on: Assisting with the 3-year Strategic Plan and Annual Operating Plan Project-based work with brands, innovation and functions M&A initiatives Specific responsibilities include: Work on high impact strategic projects, being the day-to-day project manager and thought leader; Support Quaker President, VP of Innovation and Strategy, CMO, CFO and other business leaders on driving strategic business priorities Build business partner relationships with Division President and leadership team; Assist in uncovering white space opportunities and prioritize them based on value creation and strategic importance; Monitor, forecast and analyze competitor actions; Provide strategic insight, analytical rigor and financial assessments of potential M&A opportunities, as well as post-alliance analysis and integration capabilities. Other key requirements include: Ability to operate effectively in a changing and unstructured environment; Ability to understand and conceptualize market and industry trends; Excellent conceptual and white boarding skills with the ability to quickly and objectively assess the feasibility and merits of opportunities; Experience in screening and analyzing potential M&A and joint venture opportunities for strategic fit and performing the necessary due diligence; Superior analytical and quantitative skills; Understanding of financial implications of strategic options and valuation techniques; Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills; Strong collaborative sensibilities; Customer-driven; Detail-orientation; Capacity and willingness to think boldly. The role will report to the Director of Strategy
Requirements:
Educational Background: A Masters in Business Administration from a top-tier school is preferred. Professional Experience and Qualities: The successful candidate will have 1-3 years of post-MBA experience with a leading strategy consulting firm. Industry experience in consumer products and retail and functional experience in M&A is preferred, as is substantial quantitative and financial acumen. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, and possess vision, exceptional ability, and enthusiasm. An ideal candidate will have the ability to identify and define business questions and issues, and develop strategic/analytical/financial frameworks around which to conduct analysis. He/she will have experience developing and designing implementation plans to drive execution. The candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and influence management abilities and will possess the interpersonal skills to gain credibility with team members and senior management.
