Title: Associate Consultant - Marsh Risk Consulting - Toronto Location: Ontario-TorontoGeneral Summary · Marsh Risk Consulting is searching for an Associate Consultant. The consultant will work in a multi-disciplinary environment, with a specific focus on risk strategies and assessment. This role will involve engagement in risk assessments, ERM projects, risk strategies development and process facilitation, among other offerings. · The Associate Consultant 2 role is to establish primary relationship with client, managing projects independently from commencement through completion. An Associate Consultant 2 is responsible for providing client service independently for less-complex client projects and will partner with senior consultants on large, complex client projects in order to gain necessary skills to advance to Consultant level. The Associate Consultant 2 is also responsible to provide analytical perspectives on client programs and drive innovative solutions in a team environment.
Essential Functions:
Client Service:
· Helps clients by serving as a resource on products and services · Contributes to the analysis of client needs or project outline and suggests suitable approaches or options to consider · Uses facilitative and diagnostic skills to assist clients in the articulation of problems · Probes beneath surface issues for concerns or issues that may be unclear to the client · Supports implementation team and measurement of results · Performs tasks on client implementation and measurement of results · Respect and maintain client confidentiality
Project Management: · Follows the continuous risk improvement methodology · Assists in matching services to client's key needs · Applies objective criteria for measuring important processes · Participates in the development of pricing of projects and securing appropriate selection of resources · Participates in the development and securing of client service agreements · Complies with company policy and procedures for timekeeping, expense reporting and billing
Communication: · Participates in the development of effective written and oral communications, such as proposals, technical concepts and deliverables
Business Acumen:
· Demonstrates a fundamental understanding of internal and external business goals and financial reports and overall strategies needed to attain these goals · Suggests best practices and resources in a specialty area with identified business need · Complies with professional standards and best practices within specialty area
Client development: · Provides suggestions to team for improving and enhancing business development activities · Performs research (e.g. reviews annual report, financial data, benchmarking, etc) for business development purposes · Provides information to prepare consultants and senior consultants for meetings with clients · Identify new and expanded business opportunities Additional Responsibilities: Colleague development: · Seeks opportunities to develop new skills and broaden and deepen knowledge through formal and informal education · Participates in team environment of continuous feedback and idea sharing · Participates in external associations to enhance technical abilities
Teamwork: · Participates in team planning and implementation activities · Openly shares information with others to support group goals · Is open to providing and receiving constructive feedback in a regular, open mannerJob Specifications: Knowledge: · Bachelor's degree (Honours) · Relevant courses in Corporate Finance and Strategy are an asset · Minimum of 5 years of risk management industry experience
