Effectively contribute to the integrity of the general ledger, including preparation and booking of various journal entries.
Review general ledger for accuracy.
As directed, conduct research in the general ledger to identify and resolve problems.
Create GL related reports and documentation to assist management with analysis and review of the organization’s general ledger activities.
Accurately identify common accounting classifications.
Accurately transfer details from separate journals to general ledgers and/or data processing sheets.
Conduct limited statistical analysis as assigned.
Demonstrate adept business writing skills through documentation of procedures.
Respond to customer inquiries ensuring that problems are resolved in a timely manner and with significant customer satisfaction. Follow up on customer issues within agreed upon timeframes, ensuring resolution and minimize potential for problem reoccurrence.
Maintain adequate technical and business knowledge to respond to a wide range of internal requests.
Effectively communicate with team members, managers, business partners, vendors, and field staff to obtain problem resolution, adding value to all interactions.
Continuously seek opportunities to enhance product knowledge as it relates to accounting and financial matters.
On an ongoing basis, demonstrate advanced technology skills with continuous expansion of knowledge as it relates to software applications.
Collaborate with supervisor in establishing performance and production goals, taking initiative in identifying specific development tasks required for focus area.
Adhere to departmental internal controls, escalating to management knowledge of variances from established work protocol.
Comply with all company policies and departmental procedures, ensuring honest and ethical conduct at all times.
Update SOX process documentation quarterly as required, complete quarterly SPOQ questionnaires as required and perform/monitor required SOX controls as described in Tutor documentation.
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and/or 1+ year(s) of related work experience is required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior direct responsibility for accrual accounting is essential.
