Assistant Controller-Medical Operations
Stryker is excited about its latest Assistant Controller opening at the Medical Headquarters in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
In this exciting and strategic role you will work with financial managers and staff to develop all financial plans and results required for division and corporate financial management and reporting. You will develop and communicate risks and opportunities in meeting our financial goals. You will provide review and analysis of all financial reporting to ensure a high degree of accuracy and integrity. You will provide direction to financial managers and senior management in the identification of opportunities for improvement in systems, processes, procedures and controls that ensure compliance to external governance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provides direction and support in the development of strategic plans, budgets, projections and monthly actual results for each functional area in accordance with US GAAP. 2. Reviews and analyses all financial reports to ensure accuracy and integrity of the results. 3. Interprets financial results to senior management to ensure understanding and applicability and identifies risks and opportunities to the plans. 4. Develops and communicates analytical information to financial manager/senior staff in an effort to drive business changes and to improve financial position. 5. Determines required changes needed in policy and procedure to ensure strong financial performance. 6. Develops effective relationships to drive change throughout the organization to improve profits. 7. Ensures proper controls for department transactions are implemented and followed to ensure accuracy and data integrity. 8. Implements necessary systems to improve performance of department staff and/or improve data provided. 9. Highly effective in training, managing and developing department staff.10. 10. Accountable for all record-keeping as appropriate and in accordance with Stryker specifications. 11. Focuses on customer satisfaction by providing positive leadership, teamwork and empowerment to solve problems through a consultative approach with honesty and integrity to provide a highly responsive and unsurpassed level of customer service. 12. Qualifications/Work Experience
• 8 -10 years experience in accounting or related finance position. • 2 - 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment highly preferred. • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. • Master's degree or CPA preferred. • Working knowledge and understanding of compensation and commission planning. • Demonstrated written and oral communications skills, including strong presentation skills. • Excellent organizational skills and strong analytical/critical thinking skills. • Strong results orientation with high degree of attention to detail. • 2 - 4 years proven managerial skills and ability to develop professionals.
Education and/or Special Training
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. • Master's degree or CPA preferred.
