Title: Applied Biological Scientist
Location: Virginia-Arlington
Key Role:
Serve as an expert in science and technology at the intersection of biology, IT, materials science, and micro and nanotechnology to develop new insights and applications. Apply a basic comprehension of biology, physics of biology, and functional properties, and demonstrate knowledge in the design, synthesis, and property and performance characterization of biological materials in devices. Act as technical consultant to a government research and development client and work with world-class scientists in driving forward innovative research efforts and applications. Maintain and leverage technical expertise and relationships in serving clients and provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support of senior decision-makers. Conduct background research in evaluating the feasibility and the defense applications of new technological concepts. Produce and present findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients. Assist in technical program management, development, and briefing materials for government research and development efforts. This position is located in Arlington, VA.
Basic Qualifications:
-2 years of experience with research related to biomaterials or biological devices
-2 years of experience with authoring technical papers, reports, or program plans for both technical and non-technical audiences
-Ability to obtain a clearance
-PhD degree
Additional Qualifications:
-2 years of experience with postdoctoral or industry research
-Experience with defense research and development
-Possession of excellent client service skills
-PhD in Applied Physics, Biophysics, Bioengineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a related field
