Position Description
This position will act as an AIX Operating Systems Administrator/Engineer and will handle AIX upgrades, patching and applying new security standards to existing AIX servers. Responsibilities include daily production support for the software and hardware infrastructure and mentoring of junior employees. This individual will support the infrastructure that is the base on which our customer sales and service applications are built. These individuals will deal with a variety of hardware platforms, operating systems, and complex software. They will be responsible for installing, maintaining, tuning, debugging, and performing the daily administration to keep the First Citizens Bank computer systems running.
This individual takes technical instruction from the Systems Engineer III and the Systems Engineer Consultant, can be assigned leadership responsibility of Systems Engineers, and will gain project management skills. Solid technical expertise focused in multiple areas that support technical infrastructure is required. Strong installation, testing, debugging and production migration skills are required.
Position may be filled as a Systems Engineer II or Systems Engineer III depending upon skills and experience of the selected candidate. Position Requirements
Basic Qualifications: Associate's degree and a minimum of 4 years work experience as a Systems Engineer in an enterprise data center environment with at least 1 year working as an AIX Operating Systems Administrator/Engineer. OR High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 6 years work experience as a Systems Engineer in an enterprise data center environment with at least 1 year working as an AIX Operating Systems Administrator/Engineer.
Additional Requirements: AIX Network Installation Manager AIX 5.3 - 6.1 in a virtual environment HACMP experience Scripting Languages Ability to provide 24 hr/7 day per week on-call support on a rotating basis
Other Preferred Qualifications: Project Management Customer Contact across all levels TSM Network TCP/IP
