Job Summary:
Tulsa based Company is seeking an Accounts Receivable Accountant to join their growing team of professionals in their Tulsa office. The primary responsibilities for this position include recording cash receipts and application of cash into the accounts receivable system, reconciling and maintaining accounts receivable reports, preparing and distributing reports, adjusting general ledger entries, researching payment variances and communicating with departments for the purpose of management inquiries and collection of past due accounts. This position is classified as temporary to permanent.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Record cash receipts and application of cash into the accounts receivable system.
Reconcile and maintain accounts receivable reports.
Prepare and distribute weekly aged receivable reports and specialized management reports.
Make adjusting entries to the general ledger.
Research payment variances by interacting with other departments and analyzing reports.
Communicate with different business segments on collection of past due accounts and management inquiries.
Communicate with both internal and external auditors to correct individual account balances and fluctuations in accounts receivable balances.
Prepare account balance statements for well owners and type letters in order to handle year end accounts receivable confirmations; follow up with owners as necessary.
Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned.
Experience:
B.S. in Accounting preferred, or high school diploma plus working towards bachelor degree.
Minimum of 3 years in an accounts receivable position preferred.
Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and concepts.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Excel.
Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
Ability to be self-motivated and work independently, as well as with a team.
Ability and willingness to learn concepts and principles.
