Jack Treier, Inc., a multi-award winning agent for United Van Lines, located in Lancaster, PA., is currently seeking a hands-on Accounting Supervisor with information technology experience. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accounting Supervisor performs and oversees a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger entries, financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, year-end audit preparation, payroll, and the support of budget activities, within a fast paced work environment. This is a “hands-on" position that requires regular performance of transactional activity, using well developed organizational and relational skills; includes oversight responsibilities for the Accounting and IT functions to ensure efficient & effective workflows. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, in compliance with all governmental rules & regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews and verifies vendor statements for accuracy.
Responsible for Accounts Receivable and collections in a timely and accurate manner.
Provides sales and other reports to the C.O.O. on a timely and accurate basis.
Audits bills / revenue distribution for accuracy.
Maintains and verifies petty cash.
Processes driver advances in an accurate and timely manner.
Reviews payroll for accuracy before submission to the payroll service.
Provides backup support for the Accounting Clerk in his / her absence – such as payroll, AP, various tax submissions, job costing, and data compilation for general ledger postings.
Processes packer and driver commissions.
Downloads and mails Van Line invoices.
Maintains accurate documentation of accounting transactions, systems, internal controls, procedures / processes and accounting methods.
Ensures that all financial reporting deadlines are met.
Provides financial and cost analysis.
Provides support for maintenance and upgrades to software programs.
Provides support for software access and troubleshooting various issues that arise with staff computers / software.
Conducts monthly 1+1 meetings with accounting staff to ensure that department and individual goals are met, and that progress to plan is “on-track".
Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner; follows and implements policies and procedures to ensure an efficient and effective workflow.
Collaborates with the C.O.O. and others to support the overall mission of Jack Treier, Inc.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or comparable experience.
Three years prior accounting related supervisory experience.
Excellent computer skills and the ability to use Office and Great Plains software preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to work independently, multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
A high level of interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills which can be used to meet objectives.
