Accounting Manager
Position Summary / Key Job Responsibilities: The Accounting Manager will be responsible for oversight of the accounting activities at the RTI Energy Systems Houston, Texas facility. Responsibilities include oversight of monthly accounting and finance functions, including Sarbanes-Oxley internal control compliance requirements. This position will also oversee general ledger management, financial statement reporting, and tax reporting. Supervises A/P and A/R accountant.
• Manage the general accounting process and staff.
• Maintain and enforce accounting controls.
• Oversee the completion of ledger accounts and financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with stated business process controls, including SOX related controls.
• Interface with internal and external auditors.
• Address complex accounting issues.
• Forecast balance sheet and cash flows and analyze variances against actual results.
• Manage A/P and A/R collections.
• Responsible for Federal and State tax reporting; handle local tax filings and tax compliance issues.
• Special projects as assigned by the Controller or other finance department management.
Qualifications / Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Two to three years related experience with manufacturing companies, including public accounting experience.
• CPA or CMA certification required.
• Strong computer skills using MS Office with extensive Excel knowledge/experience.
• Experience with SAP and Hyperion required.
