General Ledger Accounting has an opportunity for an experienced, self-directed Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager is responsible for contributing to the professional development of staff and assisting the team leader in providing direction and leadership within the assigned functional areas.
Supervisory responsibility involving staffing, conducting performance appraisals, training and developing subordinates, promotions, salary increases, terminations, disciplinary actions, and etcetera
Able to research and interpret accounting principles and pronouncements (GAAP), and recommend application to Company
Analyze IPV, PPV, and WIP variances on a monthly basis
Perform standard cost updates and analysis on a quarterly basis
Make recommendations regarding inventory accounting and reserves
Plans and coordinates activities of a specified accounting function to ensure accurate and timely recording of data
Ensures accurate and timely reporting of all financial reports
Monitors general accounting systems; recommends and implements approved changes
Conducts special accounting studies and prepares report
Update SOX process documentation quarterly as required, complete quarterly SPOQ questionnaires as required and perform/monitor required SOX controls as documented
Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and controlling
Direct and oversee work of direct reports
Able to delegate efficiently and accordingly
Able to manage complex personnel issues
Able to coach and mentor supervisory direct reports
Effective recruitment and retention of quality employees
Effectively recommend/negotiate annual salary adjustments for direct reports
Prepare, perform, review and approve annual performance reviews for direct reports
Authority and responsibility to retain, terminate, reward or discipline reporting group
Bachelor Degree in a related field or 4 years of accounting experience; and 2 years of related accounting experience; or equivalent of education and experience combined.Masters in Accountancy and/or CPA license are a plus.
