Kent Nutrition Group's Muscatine, IA location has an opening for an Accountant. This is a salaried position with a complete benefits package reporting to the Accounting Manager. This position has direct responsibility for all cost accounting for Feed and Pet divisions.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Cost Accounting
* Verification of standard manufacturing, material and packaging costs * Responsible for direct labor allocation, inventory variance tracking and reporting of product line and brand profitability * Partner with operations Accountant on plant policies and procedures * Work with Sales and Marketing on costs related to pricing decisions * Review and analyze hourly payroll at manufacturing facilities * Inventory observation with outside accountants * Review and manage retail store inventory costing and reporting from POS system Fixed Asset Accounting * Monthly depreciation entries * Reconciliation of fixed asset additions and removals * Project accounting Financial Accounting * Assist in monthly financial reporting package * Proper recording of costs associated with manufacturing * Account reconciliations * Brand and species financial analysis * Customer profitability analysis

Education and Experience Required
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance * Minimum 6 years experience in a manufacturing setting * Demonstrated skills in Excel including pivot tables * Demonstrated abilities in analysis and business decision making * Knowledge of Dynamics Great Plains accounting package
