Eaton Corporation located in Williamsport, Md has an opening for an Accountant. The position is designed to introduce the individual to Eaton's finance systems and to develop the foundation for future positions within the finance team.
* Developing strategic plans and operating budgets
* Timely and successful completion of all month end close duties as they relate to inventory and fixed assets
* Creating financial statements on a monthly basis
* Preparing monthly forecasts and annual budgets
* Reconciling general ledger accounts
* Analyzing operational performance and identifying areas where improvements are possible
* Evaluating expenses and cost standards for ultimate efficiency
* Verification of manufacturing cost and analysis of standard cost vs actual cost
* Management of Inventory movements and valorization of inventory into the system
* Management of standard cost (of products manufactured, purchased and sold)
* Management of system interfaces: MFG/Pro
* Support reporting and forecasting requirements
* Ensure effective preparation and issue of performance reporting (e.g., Balanced Scorecards, weekly report, Cost out, MFG/Pro)
* Actively participate in business process improvement projects in the finance area (e.g. BPI, VSM, EBE) new system implementation as well as other key projects for the site both finance related (e.g. Sarbanes-Oxley), and plant related.
The Accountant must possess the following minimum requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
* Ability to successfully complete all accounting functions as they relate to the month end close
* Strong knowledge of the budget and forecasting process
* Fluent in Microsoft Office; knowledge of an ERP software is strongly preferred
* Strong leadership skills, coupled with excellent written and oral communication skills
