Accountant/ Financial Analyst

Sullivan Tire, a leading tire and automotive service company, has been family operated for more than 55 years currently has an opportunity for a General Accountant/Financial Analyst.



As a General Accountant/Financial Analyst one would provide financial analysis and expertise to the Commercial, Manufacturing, and Liftworks divisions. Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Work closely with management to increase profitability through improved efficiency and productivity. Adheres to internal controls, policies and procedures.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Produce various reports and models utilizing multiple software systems and have ability to summarize findings in a clear and concise manner.  
   
2. Prepare division and corporate specific metrics such as manufacturing dashboard, inventory roll reconciliations, cost recovery analysis.
   
3. Verify purchases and record payments related to cost of goods sold. Reconcile differences between the point of sales systems and true payables purchase details.
   
4. Monitor sales, purchases, and inventory values for accuracy.
   
5. Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice. Analyze monthly financial results to determine trends and identify variances to plan and forecast.
   
6. Assist with the Inventory Control function.
   
7. Partner with the General Ledger Supervisor in reviewing income statement line items, preparing and entering journal entries, and reconciling general ledger accounts as part of the monthly close process.
   
8. Provide assistance to operational managers on financial questions, profit and loss statement explanations, expense research, etc.
   
9. Support the documentation, measurements, and results of the divisional corporate deliverables.
   
10. Assist with annual audit performed by outside CPA firm.
    
11. Assist in preparing the corporate operating budget.
    
12. Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

Education/Experience:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field with 3-5 years experience

Skills/Knowledge:

• Solid understanding of accounting principles
  
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  
• Solid understanding of Dynamics (formerly Solomon) and FRX accounting software
  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
  
• Solid Problem-solving and analytical skills
  
• Detailed-oriented
  
• Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team
