Our client located in Columbia, MD is currently looking for a Business Analyst to join their team. Dedicated to providing high-quality ancillary products that are affordable and easy to use. The Specialty Benefits portfolio includes Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, and Stop Loss. Within our OptumHealth business segment we are seeking an Accountant. Job responsibilities are as follows: Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports. Perform account reconciliations and analyze, prepare journal entries and review accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles. Analyze and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position. Be involved in the monthly/quarterly 'close' process. Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits. Analyze and investigate data. Provide explanations and interpretations within area of expertise. Qualifications: Must be strong with accounting and finance duties. 1-3 years of accounting/financial analysis experience Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access intermediate skills Use pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise. Investigate non-standard requests and problems, with some assistance from others. Prioritize and organizes own work to meet deadlines. Provide explanations and information to others on topics within area of expertise. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience. Banking or financial institution experience is a plus. Health insurance experience is a plus. This position will pay between 25-30 per hour based off experience.
