Summary Responsible for producing and delivering fully tested computer programs from business requirements and/or program specifications on time, and according to specifications. This includes creating appropriate program documentation, and addressing operational and program discrepancies on schedule, within prescribed limits, and in accordance with client requirements and departmental standards
Responsibilities Completes tasks/projects accurately and in a timely manner. Operates under management supervision while assuming increased responsibility for task/project completion, career development, and expansion of role as a team player. Adheres to department practices, standards, policies, procedures, and methodologies. Applies technical knowledge and skills to complete and document increasingly advanced projects. Develops knowledge of application/area as it relates to assigned projects and tasks. Pursues career development through continued training. Willingly accepts additional responsibility. Displays initiative and a cooperative attitude. Assumes an active role in on-call responsibilities and resolving daily issues with appropriate supervision. Assignments and goals are normally jointly planned by the supervisor (or senior personnel) and are more advanced and functionally defined than those assigned to an entry-level programmer, with alternatives, actions, and results clearly specified. The Programmer/Analyst I participates in the design, creation and delivery of detailed program specifications, and continues to focus on mastering the programming process in both development and production support situations. The Programmer/Analyst I continues to develop a broad understanding of his/her role in the department and division, the structure of the company, and the corporate culture.
Education/Experience for Programmer Analyst I Four year college degree and no related experience or 2 or more years specialized training or professional experience is required. Appropriate industry experience is preferred. Bachelor's degree in computer science, including mainframe language courses is preferred.
Education/Experience for Programmer Analyst II Four year college degree and 2 or more years professional experience or 4 or more years professional experience is required. Appropriate industry experience is preferred. Master's degree in computer science, including mainframe language courses is preferred.
Education/Experience for Programmer Analyst Sr Four year college degree and 4 or more years professional experience or 6 or more years professional experience is required. Appropriate industry experience is preferred. Master's degree in computer science, including mainframe language courses is preferred.
Education/Experience for Programmer Analyst Lead Four year college degree and 6 or more years professional experience or 8 or more years professional experience is required. Additionally, one of the following requirements must be met: Demonstrates significant contribution to two or more functional areas and/or demonstrates significant contribution to applications using multiple system technologies or vendor systems. Either type of experience requires recommendation from management of those applications.
Education/Experience for Technical Lead Four year college degree and 8 or more years professional experience or 10 or more years professional experience is required. Additionally, one of the following requirements must be met: Demonstrates significant contribution to two or more functional areas and/or demonstrates significant contribution to applications using multiple system technologies or vendor systems. Either type of experience requires recommendation from management of those applications. Promotion to TA is also subject to senior management approval. Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred
